Julie A. Brainer joined Anselmi & Mierzejewski, P.C. as an Associate Attorney in September, 2011. Prior to joining the Firm Ms. Brainer represented the state of Florida as an Assistant State Attorney where she prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases and set as lead counsel on several jury trials. While in Florida Ms. Brainer served as a guest lecturer at South University in West Palm Beach. Ms. Brainer also gained trial experience as an Assistant Prosecutor in Oakland County, Michigan where she received a distinguished service certificate. Ms. Brainer’s prior experience also includes work in debtors’ rights, third party auto negligence, and general premise liability cases.
Ms. Brainer earned her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 2003, graduating with honors and received her Juris Doctorate from Michigan State College of Law in 2006. While in law school Ms. Brainer was a national finalist in the American Bar Association’s commercial arbitration competition, an Associate Editor for the Journal of Medicine and Law, and served as a law clerk for Michigan’s Attorney General where she participated in preliminary hearings and drafted briefs for review by the Michigan Court of Appeals. She also received publication acknowledgments for her work done on 2005 and 2006 supplements to Michigan Pleading and Practice, Volumes 8A and B as well as a 2005 Wayne State Law Review, ADR Survey Article.
